The First Victory

The First Victory

Andrew Stewart

Sequential Art / Comics / Graphic Novels

A riveting new account of the long-overlooked achievement of British-led forces who, against all odds, scored the first major Allied victory of the Second World WarSurprisingly neglected in accounts of Allied wartime triumphs, in 1941 British and Commonwealth forces completed a stunning and important victory in East Africa against an overwhelmingly superior Italian opponent. A hastily formed British-led force, never larger than 70,000 strong, advanced along two fronts to defeat nearly 300,000 Italian and colonial troops. This compelling book draws on an array of previously unseen documents to provide both a detailed campaign history and a fresh appreciation of the first significant Allied success of the war.Andrew Stewart investigates such topics as Britain's African wartime strategy; how the fighting forces were assembled (most from British colonies, none from the U.S.); General Archibald Wavell's command abilities and his difficult relationship with Winston...

Salvation

Salvation

Alan Cliff

Comics

Full Length Play, written and premiered in 2013. The play, with a cast of four (2M, 2F) follows the relationships, experiences and pressures of three workhouse inmates and a contentious new arrival - a nurse - during mid-nineteenth century Ireland.Story follows the courage and bravery of those in a tragic and harrowing environment striving to harness one objective: Survival. If you liked Harry Potter, you will LOVE this story! We were not boy wizards, vampire’s assistants or even living skeletons, we were normal everyday people living normal everyday lives, with no inkling of the tremendous events that were about to unfold. Our adventure began with the arrival of a peculiarly small Christmas card, which sent us hurtling to the mystical land of Onisha, where Umahia, the Grand Mystic, asked for our help. He told us that he needed our help to fight, stop and ultimately defeat ‘Miafra, the evil,’ the mystic who had stolen his powers, the seasons, free will and all time. Umahia told us that we had powers, powers that up until then we had no inkling we possessed, which might, just might help us to defeat the evil man…We had no idea, no inkling whatsoever, that we were going to be attacked by Protectors atop Hound-Horses, fight a statue hell-bent on killing us, be betrayed in our sleep, and be forced to fight a dangerous beast called a Dragonsaur. No, we had no idea at all. If we had, we might have chosen not to heed Umahia’s call, leaving the land of Onisha - and the Earth - exposed to untold dangers. J K Rowling, eat your heart out (!?!)

A secret mentor guides him as he opens a new business and finds romance with strong-willed, Jennie Greene. Will his fear of commitment once again interfere, keeping him stuck in the painful past?
